“Industrial Luxury” may sound like an oxymoron, but it’s a concept that works for the expansive new location of California-based Verve Coffee. The café chain and roaster celebrated the opening of its 14th (and largest) location last week: the Verve Roastery Del Sur. Not only will the location continue Verve’s mission of serving the highest-quality coffees the company can source, but will elevate coffee culture in unexpected ways.

“Our new first-of-its-kind roastery experience in the Arts District will give coffee and food lovers the chance to look behind the curtain at the next wave of craft coffee,” says Colby Barr, co-founder of Verve Coffee Roasters. “This space showcases our continued innovation and growth as a brand, while establishing a home for our team and community in Los Angeles. It is a combination of a roastery, test kitchen, beverage innovation center, training lab, and event space, while still upholding what we live and breathe everyday—coffee.”

A non-alcoholic bar program will serve a selection of coffee-centric drinks, including Verve’s Nitro Flash Brew, a Smoked Chicory Latte, Cascara Negroni, and an Old Fashioned.

Verve has also brought Chopped Champion Mario Tolentino on board to head the new roastery’s in-house 110-seat restaurant, as well as their grab-and-go options. Guests can look forward to classic-yet-elevated items such as a Vegan B.L.A.T, Buckwheat Soba Noodles, and Sesame Banana Pancakes.

Verve’s Roastery Del Sur is located at 500 Mateo Street in the Los Angeles Arts District. It will be open every day from 6:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m., with food service from 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
